Who can apply to Artist-in-Residence Program (JULY 15th Deadline)?

Open to international, national, and local artists producing innovative work in printmaking, photography, digital media, film and video, sound, animation, media art installation, and book arts. Applicants should be familiar with at least one of the media/equipment offered at Kala. Emerging artists (graduated BA, BFA, or MFA in the last 24 months) and senior artists (65+) are eligible for discounts.

What does Artist-in-Residence Program (JULY 15th Deadline) offer?

Subsidized contract residency rates. Emerging artists receive a 10% discount on all residency rates for one year after graduation. Senior artists (65+) receive a 10% discount per month on all residency rates. Residency fees vary based on duration and access, with options for 2-week, 3.5-week, 1-month, 2-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month residencies, including collaborative rates. Housing is included for 2-week and 3.5-week residencies for artists outside the Bay Area.
