About
Art on the Block NYC offers a short-term (5 weeks) artist residency in a NYC storefront at 107 West 86th Street. The selected artist will transform the space into both a studio and a public viewing area, being present full-time five days a week (Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-6pm). Responsibilities include engaging with visitors and facilitating scheduled programs for youth, families, and adults, such as art-making workshops and artist interviews, co-developed with the Art on the Block NYC team. A $6000 stipend is provided for participation. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of New York City, as transportation and housing are not covered.
